Pack 1 pick 1:

My Pick:

I'm not sure this pick was correct. This pack was obviously lopsided for white, and the stroke may have been the better choice knowing it may only be a splash if I get cut off pack 2. I do think the power of this enchantment is for real, but my only experience actually casting it (i've drafted it but not drawn it many times) is in sealed where it was spectacular.
Pack 1 pick 2:

My Pick:

This one, not so tough. Sure, i'm sending through a white rare, but she's not /that/ exciting, and she's certainly no into the void. i actually thought about blessings of nature for a moment, then punched myself in the face and moved on...
Pack 1 pick 3:

My Pick:

Safe to say blue is open when one of these comes behind an into the void.
Pack 1 pick 4:

My Pick:

I tanked really really hard on this one. Sure, i already have a white card, but that fettergeist is almost like a hybrid mana for black. it has so much synergy with the other black cards, and i probably should have just taken the barter in blood and recognized the signal. although pilgrim is a strong signal too. maybe its just my hind sight wishing i had that extra barter in blood, but i'm just not sure...
Pack 1 pick 5:

My Pick:

Gloom widow was the best card here, but wasn't willing to take it. Crippling chill is a fine card, and i find it to be much better than prison.
Pack 1 pick 6:

My Pick:

woah, this guy is late, and there's a Connoisseur here, and the white is apparently drying up. i made the switch, and again, really regretting not taking that barter in blood earlier, as i may be making the situation worse having passed that on.
Pack 1 pick 7:

My Pick:

sticking with the plan now.
Pack 1 pick 8:

My Pick:

yup. i love this card in a grindy u/b deck, sometimes in the more combo-y u/r decks too.
Pack 1 pick 9:

My Pick:

down to do some blocking!
Pack 1 pick 10:

My Pick:

black needs a goblin piker so bad, especially in a format that has so few. there are also rare ocassions when his ability is relevant (undying or reanimate) but also just him being able to sacrifice to get a trigger from a blood artist or something can be a nice bonus.
Pack 1 pick 11:

My Pick:

this card has grown on me, its obviously not exciting, but a control deck can play it.
Pack 1 pick 12:

My Pick:

sure, we'll see if it makes the cut. depending on your curve and over all plan this card can be okay, not exciting. counters are always awkwardly balanced between wasting tempo by passing with mana up, and recovering that tempo by countering their duder and making a token. high risk high reward.
Pack 1 pick 13:

My Pick:

cut the color? not unplayable, but never excited to see it.

Pack 2 pick 1:

My Pick:

Well, i could have switched back to white here, and considered it for quite a while. I did have a couple white cards and i definitely wasnt tableing the frailty but went with the lookout, he's a personal favorite, and i didn't think switching plasn at this point was worth the terminus (or the 1.5tix)
Pack 2 pick 2:

My Pick:

This was tougher than it should be for me. I think i made the right choice but i love that shade, and i always worry i wont see another one...
Pack 2 pick 3:

My Pick:

but i did :)
Pack 2 pick 4:

My Pick:

red looks open from this direction, which is a bit odd, but i'll take the marginal prison here. it solves a lot of specific problems, but also isn't a "hard" removal spell.
Pack 2 pick 5:

My Pick:

Slow decks like this card, at a minimum strong sideboard against a grindy mirror. red still looking open here. :(
Pack 2 pick 6:

My Pick:

very happy to see this. in a deck that is trying to last a bit longer, protecting your threats with this soulbound dude is dope.
Pack 2 pick 7:

My Pick:

Probably should have taken peel, but figured i'd pick up enough black removal. this also gives prety serious inevitability, and pairing it with the horseshoe crab is a thing that does stuff.
Pack 2 pick 8:

My Pick:

this 5 drop has been a lot better than i thought. not happy to run him, but hes perfectly fine option.
Pack 2 pick 9:

My Pick:

well i have some 2 drops making this pretty sweet. sometimes this card is annoying becasue my deck will have so few if i'm playing black.
Pack 2 pick 10:

My Pick:

D'd this one because it counters removal and does stupid things.
Pack 2 pick 11:

My Pick:

ding.

Pack 3 pick 1:

My Pick:

I considered bone splinters here, but decided it wasn't that close. also, a player i respect has be saying Descent into Madness was actually good. I dont' quite see it, ut was hoping it would table, and i could try it out.
Pack 3 pick 2:

My Pick:

very glad i took the tandem lookout now! maybe i'll table the vigilance guy! (unlikely)
Pack 3 pick 3:

My Pick:

i thought about the tomb, but in a deck that does more blocking than attacking its not that great.
Pack 3 pick 4:

My Pick:

considered taking the trampler here, but curve could use some low cost dudes.
Pack 3 pick 5:

My Pick:

if only this was my 2nd copy :/
Pack 3 pick 6:

My Pick:

Not sure how i feel about this in a deck that has no 3rd color splash, but i usually play it when i can. ramping is a pretty sweet tool when you ahve 6 and 7 drops to play.
Pack 3 pick 7:

My Pick:

mixed on this card, but took it in case i felt there would be a matchup where its relevant.

This draft converter created by Benjamin Peebles-Mundy.
Visit the draft converter today!
and here's the deck i built:
Game 1 i was on the play, I kept a 7 card hand:
Butcher Ghoul, Latch Seeker, Elgaud Shieldmate, Island, Swamp, Swamp, Crippling Chill
T1- Land, go. Opponent, same.
T2- Draw Island, cast ghoul. Opponent casts an Inquisitor.
T3- Draw crypt creeper, cast it, play land. He attacks for 2, then plays the 2/1 white flier.
t4- I play a shield mate, dont pair, bash for 3. He mist ravens my 2/3, bashes for 4.
t5- i drew a corpse trader, so i replayed that instead of the 2/3, and basehd with just the creeper. He bashes with fliers, and plays Griff Vanguard
t6- i replay my shield mate, he attacks for 7 flying, and ten casts voice of the provinces.
t7 i draw a blank and concede.
I boarded out 1 stern mentor for 1 geist snatch, hoping to hit a fatty flier, while the 2/2 ground guy for 4 wasn't going to do much for me.
Game 2 (on play)
I shipped this 7 card hand: 5 lands, Butcher Ghoul and Elgaud Shieldmate. I guess i could have kept it? probably not. His deck was aggressive, and i didn't have a way to deal with fliers in my hand, nor any aggression or game plan.
I kept my 6: Geist Snatch, Death Wind, Island, Island, Swamp, Driver of the Dead.
Not exciting, but the draw had a plan.
He played an inquisitor, and followed it up with the Emancipation Angel, setting back his own land. i miss my 4th land drop and decide to kill the inquisitor. i never see another land, but eventually draw into fetter geist to buy some time, but he eventually plays Mist Raven into Dead Eye Navigator, and just locks me out of the game by souldbonding them.
This deck was really really strong. i'd take this deck over a random ddraft deck of this format any day of the week. :( Mist Raven is such a beating for any slower deck, as it gobbles up any defense you have set up, and it also blows out the Connoiseurs if you load them with counters. IT's also a great stabilization card, it's just damned good. especially against me, when he can apply a ton of pressure with cheap creatures and pick the blockers off the table with a mist raven, there's not a lot that you can do aside from cloudshift.
if anyone has suggestions or tips on the above picks i was unsure of, i'd love to get some opinions, also, based on what i built did i miss something?
bleh.
